Recently a Black model was confronted with what many identify as insensitivity, ignorance, or flat out racism, when asked to wear Caricatured or Cartooned adornments featuring facial features many have identified as being “Black Features”. The event happened at the Fashion Institute of Technology. The model claims she was pressured to wear a “racist,” monkey-like costume during the runway event in New York City. The ensemble included large prosthetic ears, lips and overgrown eyebrows.

Surely, giving an audience something to point at and react to under controlled conditions is an art form when it comes to catwalks. Fashion houses have used any number of devices to maintain a separateness from their competitors, in an attempt to maintain or carve out their own niche.
The case with PRADA and a few others reminds us of how Race /Cultural Misappropriation.
